The Endless Tide

The Endless Tide

Sea Shepherd Australia Remote Marine Debris crew teamed up with Grassland Films to document the clean-up of Mapoon, a remote Indigenous community nestled on the Queensland side of the Gulf of Carpentaria.

This pristine ecosystem is under constant overwhelming threat from marine debris. A diverse team of volunteers, rangers, filmmakers, and environmentalists embarked on this mission, driven by a shared commitment to safeguarding our oceans and coastal ecosystems.

The crew braved monsoonal rain and rough seas, tirelessly scouring the coastline for traces of plastic pollution to remove.

Clean-ups like this are crucial in the fight to protect coastal wildlife and ecosystems short-term, but this powerful film clearly demonstrates the need for a longer-term solution that stops the flow of plastic into our oceans and onto our shores. Global manufacturers need to be held accountable for their single-use products through to end-of-life.

Burke Marine is deeply committed to preserving and protecting our planet's waterways, and proudly supports Sea Shepherd in their mission to clean up our oceans.
